The stoner rock and doom metal trio brought new material and longtime favorites together for the second night of their U.S. tour in Phoenix.
Sleep kicked off their second night on tour in Phoenix at The Van Buren, and the wait was well worth it! After a hiatus, Sleep returned to the stage with new music and new members, yet still bringing the old Sleep sound back to life.
Sleep’s sound continues to grow with their most recent release, Hempispheres, showing their diverse and classic sludge riffs. The three-piece band now consists of vocalist and bassist Al Cisneros, guitarist Bubba Dupree, and drummer Dale Crover.
Though this tour is featuring their new music as a reformed band, they didn’t stray away from their cult classics, including "Dragonaut" and records off of Sleep’s Holy Mountain. This was a great surprise to see their progression throughout the night, showcasing their new projects and blending them with the old!
