Pop punk favorites Yellowcard and Good Charlotte have joined forces for a refreshed collaborative version of “Bedroom Posters,” a track that originally appeared on Yellowcard’s 2025 album Better Days.
The new take on the song arrives just ahead of the band's co-headlining run through Australia and New Zealand this February. Both groups experienced major resurgences in 2025, returning with new music after extended gaps since Yellowcard’s 2016 self-titled record and Good Charlotte’s 2018 release Generation Rx.
Leading up to the premiere of the music video, Ryan Key and Joel Madden hosted a live Q and A session on VEEPS, reflecting on their journeys back into music and the unexpected path that brought them together creatively. During the conversation, they spoke candidly about stepping away from their bands in the past and finding a renewed sense of purpose in their current era. While “Bedroom Posters” leans heavily into nostalgia, both artists emphasized that they have no desire to relive the exact moments that defined hits like “Ocean Avenue” or “Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous.” Instead, they spoke about growth, evolution, and the importance of moving forward while honoring where they came from.
The music video, directed by Yellowcard’s Ryan Key in his debut behind the camera, serves as a tribute to the bedrooms where many fans first discovered their favorite bands. Throughout the visual, the setting transforms into different poster-covered spaces, each packed with subtle references and throwback details. Among the many nods to past eras are easter eggs that celebrate the late nineties and early 2000s scene, including posters for Spice Girls, Blink-182, Green Day, and even a flyer from one of Key’s own high school shows in Jacksonville. The layered visuals invite repeat viewings, rewarding longtime fans with new discoveries each time.
Most of the fans of both bands probably got to know them through the earlier mentioned songs they made in the early-aughts. I had posters of both Good Charlotte and Yellowcard practically next to each other on my own walls, so this collaboration is a dream come true for pop-punk fans like me. I’m even a little surprised they never worked together before, as their sounds fit together so well. Listening to it brings you right back to your teens, filled with the memories of being excited about your favorite bands dropping new music videos and listening to it non-stop after. The same excitement came over me in anticipation of this song and accompanying music video, and it did not disappoint in the slightest.
The distinct Yellowcard sound is still there, just more matured, and elevated by adding the vocals of Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden to the song. These two voices are so distinctly tied to my youth, it’s hard to not be swept away by the nostalgia of it all. The artists obviously know this as well, heavily leaning into it with the 90s/2000s aesthetic in the visuals. The bedroom posters are long gone now, but we can still pretend life’s still as simple as it was back then, just for a couple of minutes.
To imagine being back in your teen bedroom, listening to your favorite bands and watching music videos on MTV like we did in the good old days, watch the music video here:
