Movements Triumphantly Return to the Stage at Crescent Ballroom

On August 11, 2021, the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona, hosted a night of emotionally charged performances as Movements returned to the stage for their first tour since the COVID-19 pandemic. Supported by openers Soft Blue Shimmer and Cheridomingo, the evening showcased a blend of shoegaze, alternative rock, and post-hardcore, reaffirming the resilience and passion of the live music scene.​

Soft Blue Shimmer opened the night with their signature shoegaze sound, enveloping the audience in lush, reverb-heavy textures. Their set featured tracks like "Chihiro," "Shinji," and "Sunpools," which transported listeners into a dreamlike state. The band's ethereal melodies and atmospheric layers provided a serene yet powerful start to the evening, setting the tone for the performances to follow.



Cheridomingo took the stage next, delivering a dynamic performance that blended alternative rock with punk influences. Their energy was palpable as they played songs such as "Swallow" and "Drugs," engaging the crowd with raw vocals and driving instrumentals. The band's presence and connection with the audience highlighted their rising prominence in the alternative music scene.​



Movements, headlining the night, delivered a compelling set that spanned their discography, marking a triumphant return to live performances. Opening with "In My Blood," the band immediately captivated the audience. The setlist included fan favorites like "Skin to Skin," "Tunnel Vision," and "Full Circle," as well as deeper cuts such as "Moonlight Lines" and "Suffer Through." A notable moment was their cover of Bloc Party's "Banquet," which showcased their versatility and homage to influences. Closing with the poignant "Daylily," Movements left the stage to resounding applause, solidifying their place in the hearts of fans eager for the return of live music.
