L.S. Dunes Close Out Spring Tour with a Ferocious, Unfiltered Set in Phoenix

On the final night of their Spring 2025 tour, L.S. Dunes delivered a performance at Phoenix's Crescent Ballroom that was both a culmination and a celebration. The supergroup—comprising vocalist Anthony Green (Circa Survive, Saosin), guitarist Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance), guitarist Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria), bassist Tim Payne (Thursday), and drummer Tucker Rule (Thursday)—has, over the past year, evolved from a side project into a formidable force in the post-hardcore scene.
Opening with "Like Magick," the band immediately set an intense tone. Green's dynamic vocals soared over the intricate guitar work of Iero and Stever, while Payne and Rule provided a relentless rhythm section. The crowd responded with fervor, their energy matching the band's from the first note.
"Fatal Deluxe," with its extended "Forgiveness" outro, showcased the band's ability to blend aggression with melody. The audience, familiar with the track's nuances, anticipated every shift, their collective voices rising during the chorus.
Mid-set highlights included "Benadryl Subreddit" and "Bombsquad," both of which elicited enthusiastic reactions. The former's haunting melodies contrasted with the latter's explosive energy, demonstrating the band's range and the crowd's appreciation for both.

Tracks from their debut album, Past Lives, like "Permanent Rebellion" and "2022," were met with nostalgia and passion. Fans, many of whom have followed the members' previous bands, sang along, their voices blending with Green's in a powerful chorus.
The title track from their latest album, Violet, served as a poignant moment in the set. Its introspective lyrics and atmospheric instrumentation provided a brief respite before the band launched into the high-octane "Grey Veins."

For the encore, "Paper Tigers" and "Forgiveness" brought the evening to a climactic close. The former's driving rhythm had the crowd moving in unison, while the latter's emotional depth left a lasting impression.
Throughout the night, L.S. Dunes proved that they are more than the sum of their parts. Their chemistry on stage, honed over months of touring, was evident in every interaction and transition. As the final notes faded and the lights dimmed, the audience was left with a sense of fulfillment, having witnessed a band at the peak of their collective powers.
